The UK is experiencing some great weather right now, so what a brilliant time to get up and exercise outdoors.

However much exercise you do, you can always do more. With the lighter evening now hanging around and the early morning sunshine it has never been easier to fit that morning jog, walk or run in before/after work.

We should all be doing approximately 1.5 hours – 2.5 hours of cardio exercise a per week. Mixed in with a healthy diet.

Running can really strengthen muscles and improve cardiovascular fitness. It is a great way to burn calories and maintain a healthy weight.

Benefits of running outdoors:

Unlike running indoors on a treadmill, running outside can be a social event. There are plenty of running groups in your local area that meet for evening runs or you could just run with a friend or colleague after work.

It is great for muscle strength as your body adapts and alters when running over different terrain. You can explore areas you have not been before and really discover a new excitement when running outdoors.

So why not make the most of the great weather, put on your running shoes and get out there.
