Scientists say that a huge 70-80% of your fitness goals will rely on you eating properly. Calorie intake and how much you consume/burn daily will play a huge part if you wish to lose weight.

We also need to make sure our bodies are receiving the quality and key nutrients it needs such as protein (found in chicken, turkey, beans, soy, eggs, yoghurt, seeds & nuts) and Carbs (found in potatoes, chickpeas, lentils, wholegrain, oats and bananas to name a few).

Healthy fats are also important (Avocados, Chia Seeds, Dark Chocolate etc) as well as vitamins and minerals which have important roles to play such as healing wounds, keeping our immune system high and helping to repair cell damage.

Gut Health

Recently, gut health has been high on the health agenda, and in my mind, rightly so. We do really need to aim to keep our gut healthy.

Ways of doing this include eating blue cheese in small doses (between 20-30grams a day), fermented products like Sauerkraut and even yoghurt with live cultures are great for us.

Eating a lot more fibre is good for the Gut. This is because it is great for the Gut microbes and eating loads of freshly prepared vegetables and oily fish is vital to promote a healthy Gut.

If you are interested in keeping your gut healthy I can write you a gut healthy diet plan to achieve your results.
